December 5 (SeeNews) - Velocita Energy Developments said last week it has sold 500 MW of onshore wind projects in France at various stages of development to Chinese wind turbines maker Envision Energy Ltd.At the same time, the seller, which is a wind energy company owned by funds affiliated with Riverstone Holdings LLC, confirmed it has sold its two assets in Scotland to the NTR Wind 1 Fund, an onshore wind-focused fund launched by Irish green asset manager NTR Plc.Envision Energy has bought the majority of Velocita’s French onshore wind portfolio, including its local team. The divested assets are mainly located near Besancon in northeastern France. The NTR Wind 1 Fund, in turn, has acquired the 35-MW Airies project in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, as well as the 11.5-MW Ardoch and Over Enoch wind farm that has been operating in East Renfrewshire since 2014. The Airies wind park is expected to start generating power early next year.“Given the maturity of the portfolio and the related significant future capital requirements this has been the right time for us to transfer ownership of two mature assets in the UK and the French business,” said Robin Duggan, managing director of Riverstone Holdings.Velocita did not disclose the value of the transactions.
